Now THIS is a roast pork sandwich … The Arista : Whole Roasted Suckling Pig,Broccoli Rabe, Italian Long Hots & Sharp Provolone for a measly $9. The wife drained me of an extra buck and went for the Gustaio : Roasted Lamb Sausage Sun Dried Cherry Mostarda, Gorgonzola & Roasted Fennel. We shared the ample order of Potato Arrostto (herbed spuds cooked in pork fat and smothered with sharp Provolone.) The lamb sammie is difficult to share bites, but I managed. Mmmmm .. these people are not afraid to SEAR …or season !

The new shop has SEATING … actual tables and chairs and not the counter and stools (which had a certain charm, but I do not miss them.)

These are ARTISAN sammies on Carangi Baker rolls (not the jaw workout that Sarcone’s gives you, but hold up well the fresh meat juices. The wife’s sandwich was served on a huge pita, and they offer gluten free options.

Without question, this is the best roast pork in the WORLD .. I think this even beats DiNics at the Terminal for sheer artistry. With the tender-yet-seared to death potatoes and a Black Cherry Wishniak, this is a Philly meal to be remembered. One of these days I’m going to order a different item. I HAVE to check out their version of the cheesesteak.

Prices are more than reasonable – cash only. Service is Bohemian casual … as distinct from hipster. Good solid people making unforgettable sandwiches. There is also a shop in the Italian Market (which my son says it not up to the original standards) but I’m sure beats crap out of Pat’s or Geno’s.
