Was in the mood for ribs and short on time. Not a big fan of Chili’s but had to shop at the Ack-a-Mee so the City Line shop was calling my name. Actually, they DO smoke their ribs in house (pecan pellets) and though “fall-off-the-bone” tender is anathema to BBQ aficionados, the meat on these still has some chew to it. They were not at all greasy and had lots of meat.

I am sorry I tried the new Texas rub, as it was ridiculously salty. The side of sticky, KC-style sauce masked that when dipped. Pecan smoke is subtle. For $18 bucks, I’ve had worse lunches (and LOTS of worse ribs.)

The Mexican street corn was a surprise. Sweet yellow corn with chili powder, Cotija cheese, cilantro and a squeeze of lime. It was tasty, and I suspect healthier than the fries.

This will not become my “goto” rib joint by a long shot, but it was not a disappointing lunch (and I’ve had a few at this location.)
